The 6 quilts in 6 weeks challenge is taking place on the Villa Rosa Design page on Facebook. You can find out about this challenge on this blog post Join the 6 Quilts in 6 Weeks Challenge Today!
Instead of whipping up a new quilt top, this week I went to the flimsy/ufo pile to unveil 3 Honey Bouquet tops and one very large The Lady top all made last year. I started easy and prepared the Honey Bouquet child size top created from my scrap bin of blues. I made 9 blocks, some are oriented 180 degrees and it finished at 45 x 54. I quilted it on my very fancy domestic Janome. I used a very dark navy solid fleece on the back, 80/20 batting and navy Glide thread top and bobbin.
Here is the Villa Rosa pattern that I used to make this quilt. You can get your own copy here

Your blue quilt is lovely, I love those cute sea turtles and sweet flowers. Congratulations on the finish! Thank you for sharing about the challenge and your finished quilt, and linking up.
ReplyDeleteNice blue quilt! Thanks for sharing the challenge info.
ReplyDeleteI think that's the perfect way to fulfill this challenge, Kat - finish those UFOs! I like the Honey Bouquet design. It looks like a great way to use up some larger pieces. It's really pretty in all the blues!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the Honey Bouquet quilt. I've got that pattern but haven't used it yet. Inspiring to see yours.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great!! Love the colors!!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish. It's so nice to subtract from the UFO pile! I am just trying to get my ONE big embroidered quilt finished for our guild show in June. It's taken sooooo long. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish and (icing on the cake) there is one less project in your UFO pile! I too love that turtle fabric!
