A Quilters Cove in RSC this month is Oranges. You will find the RSC aka Rainbow Scrap Challenge over at SoScrappy every Saturday where quilters display whatever they've stitched up with their scraps.
This year I am making a quilt with assorted size blocks and applique houses made with scraps of the monthly RSC color. The color for May is orange. When finished my block will be trimmed to 9" x 10-1/2" .
Andree of QuiltingLearningCombo is also joining in and hosting our Linky Party on the last Saturday of each month where we can share our houses of a design variety we each have chosen..
You will find the links to previous months' housing project HERE .
I also made these paper pieced houses in orange. I don't have a finishing plan in place yet....not even thinking about it.
I'm joining all these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Cute houses, Kat! Both the appliqued one and the paper-pieced ones are fun to look at. You made a great scrappy tree, too!

ReplyDeleteThose orange houses are adorable. It is such a happy color.
ReplyDeleteI love your unique houses! My mother loved orange, and it always makes me remember her orange kitchen when I see orange-themed quilt blocks.
ReplyDeleteHi Kat, your orange houses are all great! I really like the colours in your big block one. It's also going to be cool seeing all of your paper pieced houses together since they are all different :-) Thanks for creating this QAL.

What adorable houses- especially your orange “log” home. I remember how enamored you were with that look. Glad to see Quilter’s Cove still going strong. I just had my second knee replacement done on the 18th and am still in the initial (agony) stage, but it will be 2 weeks tomorrow, so I know things will now begin getting better. I’ve spent a lot of time sorting a mother lode of scraps given to me before the surgery, so I hope to hit the ground running again sometime in June. Take care! xo
ReplyDeleteVeery cute houses. What a great tree... it feels Dr. Seus-ish to me. How fun.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute house! Your Quilters Cove is going to be such a great quilt. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
