Christmas Rose Wreath |
The original concept for this project was to use up those christmas scraps. HA! I have 3 bins of christmas scraps still screaming to get out.
The log cabin rose blocks were paper pieced and finish at 6" and 3".
I might gather up some courage to try my hand at stipple quilting for the first time. I'm not a fan of stitching in the ditch, unless it's used to anchor major sections.
I think a little border and some free motion quilting would be just great. I have ripped out a lot of stitch in the ditch quilting because I can't stay in the ditch I guess, but I love the free motion quilting. You will soon have a new finish for Christmas, and it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat wreath and perfect time to finish.
ReplyDeleteDarling small hanging just right for the coming season!
ReplyDeleteIt's so close now that you are sure to finish it. While I haven't tried free motion, perhaps it will be drawn for the bucket list (grins). Since you have lots of other scraps on hand, you can do another one if this gets "too messed up" for you to look at when you attempt stippling. Just remember that it IS suppose to be squiggly so you really can't mess it up too much anyway. GO FOR IT! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a better way to finish a project and practice at the same time. Smaller sizes are the best to practice FMQ'ing on!
