Scrappy with Stars - RSC13 - UFO finish ..... again

Back in December, 2013,  I posted this finish for the RSC13 project I'll call Scrappy Stars.  You can see the original post  here :

http://scrapboxquilts.blogspot.com/2013/12/scraphappy-saturday-rsc13-finale.html

At that time, I put it through the washer  and it came apart at many seams where it was joined quilt-as-you-go style.  Unusable as it was,  I tossed it in a box (for a few years).

This month I pulled it out of the box to correct the problems and turn it into a real quilt again.  I cut apart all the blocks from the joining strips; trimmed them up equal and re-joined them.  I used a very dark brown (mink)  for the joining strips this time.

Here it is re-assembled, bound  and washed again.  It survived the laundry this time.  It measures 45 x 60.

and here is the back ........................

I'm happy to report a finished UFO this month.  I am sharing with my yahoo group friends and joining linky parties at

Crosswalk - OMG finished

In my first post about this quilt  HERE,  I talked about making tops with pre-cut strips until they ran out.   I also used this first one, Crosswalk,  as my one monthly goal for June, to be quilted and bound, so it wouldn't sit around  for ages unfinished.

I was recently introduced to the 'circles on quilts' templates by Dena Wilkins.  She shares lots of photos of her fabulous ruler work at Living Water Quilter.  My templates arrived quickly and I set about covering this little quilt in circles,  just for practice and fun.

Here is the Crosswalk quilt, 40 x 52, all finished and ready for a child to cuddle under.  The circles are 1 inch apart, poly batting, and the quilt is still cuddly after all that quilting.

Here is the view from the back .....................

I'm sharing with several linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing too.

Crosswalk - a jelly roll OMG

Last month the Stashbusters group offered up a challenge to use some of those jelly rolls you've collected.   I am not a collector of precuts, so  I set about cutting up jelly roll strips from my stash.  I put them all in a basket to wait for the challenge to begin June 1st.

The group is calling this the strip tease.  This is my first strip tease top  (I've since re-named it "Crosswalk").  The trail of squares remind me of Abbey Road,  the crosswalk.  Can you picture that crosswalk on their album cover?

I will continue making tops until the strips are all sewn up.  I don't want these tops to linger  unfinished, so I am offering up this first top as my OMG (one Monthly Goal for June).  I hope to have it finished with quilting and binding before June has past.

Here is Crosswalk.  It measures 40 x 52.
