Machine Quilting With Rulers QAL

This project is a ruler quilt along with Angela Walters.  It is worked on a pre-printed panel.  I added a couple borders and a flange for a final measurement of  58 x 72.  I enjoy these challenges that have weekly progress.  You can find all the info for this project  at

 https://quiltingismytherapy.com/free-quilt-patterns-and-tutorials/free-motion-challenge-quilting-along/

Here is my finished quilt.  I used a poly batting, Glide threads on top and bottom line thread in the bobbin.

Here is a photo of the back, it is a gray and white print.  I usually love seeing the back of the quilt to see the whole picture of the quilting,  but it's not showing up very well.  It's still a cozy quilt to gift to someone special.

I'm joining these linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing today.

  3. It looks great. What poly batting do you use? And, because I'm curious -- what color bobbin thread do you use? (I'm assuming Bottom Line comes in several colors.)

  5. Using a panel to practice your quilting sounds like a great idea! That is a pretty one, and I like the borders you added.

  6. You did a great job! Also, you're inspiring me... I just got a computer for my long arm machine and I'll bet a printed panel like this one would be good for practicing how to program blocks, borders, etc. for computer assisted custom quilting. You know, instead of making all of my beginner mistakes on something I spent a year piecing!
