I got out the christmas fabrics... progress seems very slow. Today I have this small octagon candle mat to share. It finished at 18 inches. I created it from a photo on the internet. If I made another one, it will definitely be larger at 24 inches. It was a bit of a challenge trying to get the striped portion to be the same width as the larger corner triangle sections.
I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

That is pretty! Is the striped edge a binding? It does look challenging to do that part plus get the triangle corners in the right place!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! The stripe is a fabulous choice.
ReplyDeleteThe blue in the stripe makes this sparkle!
ReplyDeleteWow, your candle mat is wonderful, very intriguing too. The strippy fabric looks like a binding. Beautiful pattern! Thank you for sharing, and linking up.
ReplyDeleteYour stripes really make this one zing. I can imagine it was difficult to make those stripes line up nicely. But people see the overall beauty not that the stripe fabric is different sizes. (Unless you mention it of course.). Great job.
ReplyDeleteAdorable mat! I just used some scraps to make checkerboard Christmas toppers. So much fun to use such cheery fabrics.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I can see how those stripes would have caused some difficulty, but man you sure tackled them! The result is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
