Chips on the Stairs

I'm working on a personal potato chip challenge this summer. I've collected several pics off the internet for inspiration. Over time, I collected a small drawer of potato chip units.  This first project was made from totally scrappy chips because one day I decided to just sew them in pairs, willy nilly.  However there were not enough for a quilt and it was so scrappy, it lacked continuity.

Then I came across a pic called Return Croche posted on pinterest by Jean Mentzer.  I pulled 2 fabrics to use for alternate blocks and was able to get a flimsy 40 x 48.  I added a couple borders to bring it up to the size I wanted.

Peaches Q4K

I made this top last year during Soscrappy RSC month of orange.  I made a few kid sized tops using oranges that month.  They were nicely hung on a hanger waiting to be quilted.  Before you know it, another year has gone by.  I sandwiched the top in May when orange was called again but didnt get it quilted until this past week.

This is a Villa Rosa Designs pattern called Snow Ruby. I quilted straight lines in a zig zag style across the top using an Omni buttery yellow thread.  I made it to finish at 44 x 52.

I had a fleece backing print in peach and grays that was perfect for this top.  This quilt will be donated for a quilt 4 kids program.
