Summer Calendar Quilt

I needed something happy and bright to display on the porch.  I chose a whimsical calendar quilt designed by Kim Schaefer.

I find applique to be an abundance of fussy work, but this pattern was my best option for the look I was aiming for.  It finished at 25 x 33.  I used lots of pieces from my scrap bins (which never seem to dwindle down).  Most of the satin stitching was done with Military Gold Glide thread.

I'm joining these linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

  4. That's a fun quilt. I've made one of the designs but loaned it to a neighbor and haven't seen it since. Boo hiss! Someday she'll find it and return it if I'm lucky.

  6. Very pretty! I have trouble with satin stitching so usually avoid it--your thread choices look great.
