I prepped this 'strippy' style quilt last year. These kits are great when you need a quick finish. They are all quilts-for-kids size at approx 48 x 56. It's also a great playground for practicing new free motion quilt designs.
The Elmo fabric was donated to me. I pulled some other fabrics that were colors in the focus print. The backing is a red fleece and cotton batting between. I free motion quilted continuous loopy circles in the printed areas and a crosshatch grid in the red and another easy design in the blue border. ( I forgot its name). A buttery yellow Omni thread on the top and gray for the blue border and bobbin. The thread just disappears in the fleece.
In the meantime, I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

What a sweet kid's quilt. And the perfect backdrop for practicing FMQ.
ReplyDeleteI love your Elmo strippie quilt! Such happy colors. I’ve made up a few strippie kits too, but am making myself buckle down to finish some older RSC block sets first.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the strippie. I love your quilting on it. Some little munchkin is going to love this quilt.
