A couple baby quilt tops

I don't have alot of wonderful things to share this week.  I have been keeping very busy.  I work on a mountain of microwave bowls in the early morning, then I loose a bunch of time on the computer.  Then I try to machine quilt in the afternoon.  Of course, we all have to work around many errands and appointments.

I did finish 3 easy placemats from the pumpkin fabric line (no photo).

Here is the project I've regrettably  been microquilting which has taken forever.  I've pressed on because I want it ready for the holiday displaying.  I regret not quilting arcs and curves and all kinds of fun things in the petals.  It would have been pretty and so much faster do finish.  I began this project last October, then it sat uncompleted for several months.  I finally gave it the push needed to move it along.  I want it done this year!!         Crimson Christmas | Krista Moser

I was also recently given a couple bags of flannel scraps and pieces and even a few large enough for backings on baby quilts.  I couldnt resist cutting them up into large bricks.  I've made 2 "Honey Bouquet" baby quilt tops and have a couple more in the works, tho I've taken a detour over to christmas projects.

These are 36 x 45 each.  The girl quilt is okay but I'm not happy with the ones in greens for the boy, too much light colored rectangles.  I may have to do some large applique on top to deter from that light.

I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week.  Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

  1. Crimson Christmas is such a beauty, I can't wait to see it quilted! You sure were very busy, microwave bowls, placemats and baby quilts tops, that's a lot for one week! Your Honey Bouquet quilts are lovely. For the green one, maybe some green thread quilting in the lighter areas will achieve the look you are looking for?
