This table topper was re-created from a pic seen online several years ago. I called it Carol's Table Topper and I sure don't know who posted the original pic. I've tried to be better about labeling my photos now. I liked it so much, so I re-drew it in EQ in somewhat 9-patch sections, and I left out the outside corners that made it square. I wanted it to lay over a little worktable I use next to my evening stitching station in front of the TV with DH.
I pulled some teals which seem to be one of my favorite colors, if it is possible to have a favorite color. When you're a quilter, you tend to love them all. I cut and pieced it last fall, then it sat. So recently I finally stitched the free motion quilting with assorted designs in the different shapes. Then came the binding. So it sat sgain as I knew this would not be a pleasant job. Actually, it was worse than that....The task from Hades. I thought I could tackle the inside corners and must confess it went awful! Same with hand stitching down on the back. It was horrible and I won't subject myself to this particular misery again. Okay, we can't expect to be good at everything. Only God is perfect. Yay!
It measures 35 inches point to point. I used a few shades of Glide threads.

That is gorgeous!! You did a great job figuring out the pattern, and then chose wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous tabletopper, Kat! It looks like a complicated design, especially for the binding, but you persisted and it was well worth it. That border fabric is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh my, what an accomplishment! It’s absolutely, well, gorgeous! I know that’s what the previous commenters called it too, but I can’t think of a more fitting adjective! It really is a work of art, and I know you’ll enjoy it every time you sit down to stitch.
ReplyDeleteOh it turned out well but I sure feel for you about that binding! Wow, but it is a task well done. Yay!
ReplyDeleteTeal and orange work well with each other. Isn't EQ8 great for taking what you see, designing the pattern and then tweaking said pattern. Don't think I've ever tackled binding inside corners. If I needed to, I would probably hunt down a YouTube video. Seems to be at least on every subject. Chat GPT is great for that kind of mission. The table topper looks great in situ.
