I finished a quilt4kids project that was started very early this year. The pattern is a free project offered by Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation. The pattern is HERE .
My Strip Tango finished at 46 x 54. I gathered up some fat quarters and it worked up very quickly. I used a silver Glide thread and free motion quilted curvvy strings with loops and occastional stars tossed in. It seems impossible to see the quilting with all these prints.
I use an 80/20 batting for everything now. The back is a fun fleece which complimented the top so nicely. Photo was taken indoors so the true colors are not quite this dark. I'm gifting this quilt to a good neighbor who is having her first granddaughter this November.
The Lil Quilt Project this week is a top donated by Cindy W. of Indiana. I've gotten so many tops to finish into quilts and I run out of steam coming up with individual names for the projects. I'm calling this one Scrappy Red Bricks.
I quilted it with diagonal straight lines going in both directions; connecting all the corner points. I used an Omni burgandy thread in the top and gray Bottom Line in the bobbin. The bottom corner is flipped so you can see the backing. It finished at 30 x 40 and will be donated to our community programs as a baby quilt.
I was a bit of a slacker in the sewing room this week. I spent more time in EQ trying to come up with wonderful borders for some special quilt centers I want to get finished.

Yes, that fleece back is perfect for your quilt. Bet your neighbor is thrilled with the gift for her new granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteYour Strip Tango looks great. Thanks for the link to Kelly's pattern. I need to make more fast and easy patterns especially to use some of my fat quarters. I don't have room to store too many more!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely baby quilt for your neighbor friend, the colors are very sweet. Love the backing too. Pretty red donation quilt, the name sounds perfect ;) Have fun playing and designing borders, and thank you for sharing and linking up!
ReplyDeleteI like the rounded corners!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty fabrics you used for that quilt4kids quilt. I am sure it will be loved.
