I finally settled on a layout for my Quilters Cove Housing Project. That was important because the layout involved different size blocks and I have to work my pieces to fit . Yes, lets make it complicated enough to be an interesting and new learning curve.
My blue house for January is ready. I have some open background areas which I will fill in with shrubs and fences and whatnots. I am using a blend of methods; shapes turned with interfacing and the smaller pieces get paper backed fusible. This kind of creativity is not my strength, but I will forge ahead. I can count on it having a whimsical flair. I think I like my house, so far.
We are starting a quilt along for "A Quilters Cove" project aligned with Angela's color of the month you will find on soscrappy. The color for January is blue. You have lots of time remaining this month to get started if you'd like to join us.
Initially, Cathy of CRAZY BY DESIGN was willing to be a leader in this quilt along until some complicated health issues caused her to drop out of the leadership, for now. I hope she will still get some ambition to take part when she is able.
I've also been contacted by Andree of Quilting & Learning - What a Combo!. She wants to take part in the quilt along with us and she has graciously offered to host a link -up party at the end of each month, for us to share our housing accomplishments. So be sure to follow Andree so you don't miss the posts.
I will continue to link my posts to the Quilters Cove page, in case we need to research back. If you would like any of your specific posts included; just send me an email or comment below and I will get it up on the page.
In the meantime, I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Super cute house! I like the yellow accent along the roof, too.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little house. I'm excited to add a house block back into my RSC lineup again this year, but haven't decided yet what house pattern I'm going to use - Bonnie Hunter, Lori Holt, Pat Sloan - all ones I've made before but loved.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blue house for January. I am trying so hard to resist the temptation to join in all the fun new quilt alongs and challenges for 2026. Seeing other people create such beautiful projects helps to fill the niche though so that I can keep a reasonable balance.
ReplyDeleteI might have to consider working on houses....
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute house, Kat! I love the roof - did you use some leftover string blocks for it? Oh, this is going to be fun!
