When Brenda announced the criteria for Round 1 of the 2026 Stay At Home Round Robin, I jumped right into EQ for design help. I made some adjustments and quickly settled on a plan and promptly got to work cutting the units so I could sew it together at our group sew day yesterday.
It came together pretty well and I am happy with the progress,..... so far. I used 4 inch finished blocks. My piece now measures 24 inches square. I still need to put a nice blanket stitch on that center applique.
I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

A beautifully executed center for your SAHRR project, Kat. Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the purple and white hourglasses, Kat! That makes such a neat design in the corners there. This is so pretty already!
ReplyDeleteWow, is that ever pretty! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful block!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely stunning, Kat! It surely expanded your center square nicely. Lots of forethought went into your arrangement and color placements. ♥
ReplyDeleteI too, love your first round. It is similar to what I intend to do with mine. I had to stop last night as I was too tired after sewing on a coping strip round to make the math work for my QSTs not to mention the PQ quilt and writing the post. This looks like one giant 24” block so you’ve nailed the cohesiveness!
ReplyDeleteI just think this is terrific! I love the echo of the flowers to the floral print in your Center Block and the addition of the deep violet hourglass borders really make the center block pop. I love how you varied the arrangement of the hourglass blocks -- they keep the eye moving and make for an interesting quilt. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYour SAHRR is looking great. Nice starting block too.
ReplyDeleteWow! Your combination of colors and placement of the quarter square triangles, really make for a great design.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very creative way to use hourglass units! :)
ReplyDeleteYour SAHRR is so gorgeous and vibrant! It’s going to be a lovely and unique quilt. I looking forward to watching you create! Go, Kat, Go!! xo
