City Square - a queen top

I've been stitching along with the City Square free quilt along offered by Scott of 4th and Main Designs.  You will find all the links HERE

I did add a couple extra rounds to finish at 92 x 104.  I used some gorgeous fabrics - all the taupes were from a Color Club collection at GEQuilt Designs, the gorgeous teal I had in my stash, searched for more but it must be old and vanished.  Also used a darker brown for trims and backgrounds of a printed batik and some fairy frost.  It is just lovely.  I won't be quilting it right away as my mind is wandering to autumn and Christmas projects.

Strippie Bargello Q4K

I had pieced up these strippie=style quilts a few months ago when SoScrappy's RSC color of the month was orange.  I pin basted them at group sew day last month and decided to dive in with a quick quilting plan.

They each finished at 46 x 56 and are already packaged for donation to our local community service departments for giving out at this discretion.  I used a lovely Glide lavender thread for free motion quilting.  They are each backed with a fun fleece print.

More Lil Quilt Project

Yep, still enjoying working thru these donated tops that were generously given on behalf of Heartstrings Lil Quilt Project.  I don't forsee getting tired of quilting up these little gifts of love.

I have 3 baby quilt finishes to share this week from tops donated for this mission.  They were all free motion quilted using Glide or Omni threads and finish at 36 " square.  They will be donated to local service depts for families in need.

This first one was made by Kathy N.  I added a couple borders to make it a nice baby quilt size.

These next 2 quilt tops were donated by Cindy W. of Indiana.

Aqua Table Topper

This table topper was re-created from a pic seen online several years ago.  I called it Carol's Table Topper and I sure don't know who posted the original pic.  I've tried to be better about labeling my photos now.  I liked it so much, so I re-drew it in EQ in somewhat 9-patch sections, and I left out the outside corners that made it square.  I wanted it to lay over a little worktable I use next to my evening stitching station in front of the TV with DH.

I pulled some teals which seem to be one of my favorite colors, if it is possible to have a favorite color.  When you're a quilter, you tend to love them all.  I cut and pieced it last fall, then it sat. So recently  I finally stitched the free motion quilting with assorted designs in the different shapes.  Then came the binding.  So it sat sgain as I knew this would not be a pleasant job. Actually, it was worse than that....The task from Hades.  I thought I could tackle the inside corners and must confess it went awful!  Same with hand stitching down on the back.  It was horrible and I won't subject myself to this particular misery again.  Okay, we can't expect to be good at everything.  Only God is perfect.  Yay!

It measures 35 inches point to point. I used a few shades of Glide threads.

Here is the lovely fabric in the final dark border.  It photos darker than it truly is.  I couldn't find more of this fabric, evidently it is an old line, but I truly love this fabric with the teal and little gold specs.

This is a couple pics of it on my rolling work cart and the final pic is of the back.

Friday Quilt Hop * 8-22-2025

Welcome to the Friday Quilt Hop.
I hope you discover new inspiration today.

the lively polka dot fabric for sashing really makes this quilt

I hadn't noticed this quilt pattern before because I avoid anything with "Rainbow"
in it;  NOTE:  this cute pattern could be done in assorted shades of one
                                                            or two colors

nice variety of projects; photos won't show up in flicker links
but all the text is there

Have yourself a great week.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Strip Tango Q4K and a Lil Quilt Project

I finished a quilt4kids project that was started very early this year.  The pattern is a free project offered by Kelly at My Quilt Infatuation.  The pattern is  HERE .

My Strip Tango finished at 46 x 54.  I gathered up some fat quarters and it worked up very quickly. I used a silver Glide thread and free motion quilted curvvy strings with loops and occastional stars tossed in.  It seems impossible to see the quilting with all these prints.

I use an 80/20 batting for everything now.  The back is a fun fleece which complimented the top so nicely.  Photo was taken indoors so the true colors are not quite this dark.  I'm gifting this quilt to a good neighbor who is having her first granddaughter this November.

The  Lil Quilt Project this week is a top donated by Cindy W. of Indiana.  I've gotten so many tops to finish into quilts and I run out of steam coming up with individual names for the projects.  I'm calling this one Scrappy Red Bricks.

I quilted it with diagonal straight lines going in both directions; connecting all the corner points. I used an Omni burgandy thread in the top and gray Bottom Line in the bobbin.  The bottom corner is flipped so you can see the backing. It finished at 30 x 40 and will be donated to our community programs as a baby quilt.

I was a bit of a slacker in the sewing room this week.  I spent more time in EQ trying to come up with wonderful borders for some special quilt centers I want to get finished.
