GFG Baby Quilt
I have been quilting on this piece of grandmothers flower garden fabric. I call it a cheater because all I had to do was sandwich it with a comfy piece of purple fleece and start quilting away. I finally finished the quilting today. I searched around for the perfect binding and all I could come up with was an elegant deep purple/blue, nothing else worked. I hope to get that stitched on tomorrow. I wish I had backed this fabric with the white fleece. Oh well, next time.
It's quite large for a baby quilt; 42 x 56. I suppose when the child is a toddler, she can still haul it around and make it useful. I also like to make a 'somewhat matching' set, a smaller piece, about 30 inches square which is a nice size to fold up an infant in and to toss over a carseat or stroller.
I'm linking up with Kelly of My Quilt Infatuation where you will find alot more creative projects being shared.

Tuesday Archives - Babies & Barns
Tuesday Archives is a linky party to re-visit your old posts. The theme this week is Babies and Barns. I happen to have a post for each one.
I may have over-worked myself on the bibs project. You can read about them here
I made a set of valances for my sewing room and a curtain for the adjacent laundry area from a wonderful panel of barns. This photo is of the curtain. You can read about that project here

Tuesday Archives - 'A' for Animal
Tuesday Archives linky party is the opportunity to re-visit old posts. It's like a new dress, you don't want to wear it once, then leave it forever hanging in the back of the closet.
This week's theme is 'A' for Animals and Awards. I don't have an award, but my DH received one 2 years ago. We flew all the way to California for him to receive it at a banquet. You can read about it here.
We also have an 'Animal' ............... Kody is the beast of the house. He has us well trained. He is 9 years old now. He is a Shetland Sheepdog (sheltie) and too smart for his britches. It just so happens that my very first blog post was about him. You can read it here. and here he is..........
I'm linking up with Val's Quilting Studio for the Tuesday Archives linky party. Hop on over there to discover lots of other interesting blog articles posted by more creative quilters.

Braided Patriotic Flag
Literally, this is what's on my design wall today. The horizontal rows in the background is the makings of my RSC14 row quilt. They are so pretty together, I couldn't take 'em down yet.
The POTD (project of the day) is the braided patriotic flag draped over the top. It is ready to be quick quilted now. It's a sample for a demo I'm doing at the next quilting guild meeting. The next step will be to make some steps showing the process along the way. Much of that is specific trimming with the rulers. I agreed to make this demo for the guild and obviously didn't have enough to do.
I'm linking up with Judy L over at Patchwork Times where you'll discover lots of other wonderful design wall inspiration.
Thanks for visiting and have yourself a creative day.

RSC14 - Teals 2
So, is another set of teals finished early for next Saturday or late for last Saturday? I'm just workin around interruptions. I need to make a big sign: Please don't interrupt my quilting endeavours! then I'll need to teach the dog to read.
After some edited drawing in EQ7, I decided to make up these 7 lovely butterflies. I don't have alot of variety in that color family, so the block design was chosen to accommodate that. These are 6 inch butterflies, separated by 3/4" sashing.
Have yourself a happy day and Thanks for visiting.

They will become part of an interesting row quilt, a WIP, we are in March, Row 3. Here is a pic of the rows so far. I'm doing this as part of the RSC14 challenge. You will find a connecting link in my left sidebar.

Tuesday Archives - ' A ' Revisited
Today is Tuesday Archives over at Val's Quilting Studio. It provides an opportunity to re-visit old posts - those creations that were special in their day.
Today is 'A' for applique. Thankful for the search feature, I found several possibilities. This delectable mountains table topper is actually on my table right now. I added simple applique, which is my best kind. My set also includes a table runner for the buffet.
So hop on over to Val's Quilting Studio where you'll find lots of other wonderful projects uncovered and have yourself a happy creative day.

Cards- to- Go
I've been working on fabric greeting cards this week. I make the tops in batches. How many I get of each design depends on how many patterns I can print on a sheet. After stitching, they are trimmed to a whopping 4-1/4 by 5-1/5 inches and stitched onto card stock.
Here is this weeks batch:
I still have the batch of heart flags to finish up. Here is a sampling of two cards ready to send a greeting.

They are fussy work and very time consuming, but I love to make them. Best of all, they work out of my scrap bins, my favorite kind of work!

Lighthouse W.H. 2 - done
I hope you're not tired of seeing lighthouse projects. The first wall hanging was too large for the space it was created for, so I made a 2nd one. I added a fancy border with 'storm at sea' units. The whole piece is a modest 11" x 19".

Scraphappy Saturday - March Teals 1
I trampled through my stash, looking for teals. I remember the batch of dull, blue-grayish teals that I have. They are more than a bit drab, but I thought that's what I would have to use. When I dug into the blue scrap bin full of small pieces, I found some snippets of bright aquas that I had put aside with other bright colors for childrens quilts. Eureka, I could borrow some of those.
I had a late start today, so I settled for making the kaleidoscope blocks. After painstaking care, they came out a different size........again. The large one actually came out 12-1/2". Yay. The little one came out 5-3/4" while I was looking for 6-1/2". The center connection was also a bust. So I see I will have to do alot of creative framing to be able to fit these all into the same quilt. I do love a challenge!
The coloring in my photos are not coming out just right. So when you see blue, just imagine aqua.
So, is 'teal' a shade from the green family and 'aqua' a shade from the blue family??? I have no seagreen teals .... they are all an offspring of blue. I am linking up with Angela at Soscrappy where you'll see what everyone else is making up with their teals. What is your thoughts on the difference between teals and aquas?? Please leave me a comment.
