Beyond the Braided Star

This quilt was started  a few (more than 2) years ago thru a quilt club challenge.  It was going to stay as just  the center design ...... until I came across more yardage of these fabrics at a fabulous quilt shop in Fishers, Indiana.  Then it grew to oversize queen .... 96 x 98 .

I quilted it to death on my sit-down Artistic Quilter 16..... both FMQ and ruler work.  The background color and backing is a cream/ecru color, but it looks darker because of the lack of lighting in the church sanctuary, which is the only place I can take a photo of something this large.

P.S.  The gold arrows going around the quilt design is not fabric,  it's  thread !

and here is the back ...  which displays the quilting better

This is a fabulous finish for me.  I have 2 panels of tree scenery also in this fabric line.  I will make them into bedroom window coverings.  I also have a Dream Big panel to quilt in the seagreen color as wall decor.

Tomorrow,  I'm linking up for Design Wall Monday.  Be sure to visit there to see what other quilters are sharing today.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Kylie Jo's Baby Quilt

After a few twists and turns, I have finished up this baby quilt for dear great granddaughter, Kylie Jo, born in February.

It finshes at 47 x 67.  It has a soft gray with white dots flannel on the back.  It turned out so cuddly.  Great Grandpa Ray also got his name in the credits on the label as he drew the tree shape on newsprint paper for me.

I'm linking up with these friends this week.  Be sure to visit their sites to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Wishing you all a blessed Easter Holy Week.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Quilts 4 Kids 19-6

Still Keeping up with my personal goal of  (2)  Q4K per month.  This one is the same pattern as 19-5, same size  43 x 54 , different color palette.  Also quilted it much different.  Didnt like what I did on the last one so much.  It took longer to quilt, but I love how the circles are distracting from the geometrical grid.  Its hard to get a proper photo outside when it's windy.

and here is the fleece back................  The kids always love the fleece backs and cuddle into them. They are not so interested in the fronts.... that is our artwork.

I'm linking up with   Small Quilts and Doll quilts today.
