Baby / Lap Quilts for Donation
This first quilt is approx 39" square. The top was made by Valerie Osborne of Maine which she generously donated to me for quilting and donating to a local mission. I did alot of straight line quilting on this one. The border and center strips are a very dark navy. It is backed with a lovely fabric which was also donated by another generous quilter friend in Illinois. I have been greatly blessed this year and grateful for the opportunity to continue to pass it on.
I was also given a couple bags of flannel scraps that one of my quilter budds didn't want to use. So I've spent some time this week cutting most of it up into oversize bricks. There are also a few generous sized pieces for backings. These will be baby quilts which I can donate to the pregnancy center. I have a few ideas saved for patterns for the bricks. I've sewn some together this morning. I found it stretching and resorted to the walking foot for piecing the flannel. I have been over-exercising my creativity to bundle these bricks into logical groupings. I fear a few will be more functional than adorable. Here is the first one done, which I gave back to the gal who donated the fabric as she also has outlets for giving. This one is definitely 'use what you have' . I did mostly outline quilting. It measures 34 x 42.
I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Elmo's Q4K
I prepped this 'strippy' style quilt last year. These kits are great when you need a quick finish. They are all quilts-for-kids size at approx 48 x 56. It's also a great playground for practicing new free motion quilt designs.
The Elmo fabric was donated to me. I pulled some other fabrics that were colors in the focus print. The backing is a red fleece and cotton batting between. I free motion quilted continuous loopy circles in the printed areas and a crosshatch grid in the red and another easy design in the blue border. ( I forgot its name). A buttery yellow Omni thread on the top and gray for the blue border and bobbin. The thread just disappears in the fleece.
In the meantime, I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Tossed Leaves Wall Hanging
I adored this panel the minute I saw it. I got it at my LQS along with some extra prints from the fabric line. It is called Tossed Leaves.
With EQ's help, I added some borders to bring it up to the desired size of 46 x 55 . I fmq around and in all of the elements and pieced and plain borders. I kept the quilting light and did not put a filler in the cream background. I used several shades of Glide threads. Its now hanging and I'm working on a complimentary table runner.

More Bear Hug Quilts
I've just finished up the final batch of lil bear hug tops donated from several quilter friends of Heartstrings Group. I paired them with batt, backing & binding and got to quilt them up and donate to wonderful charities in my area. I've used walking foot and free motion quilting with Omni and Glide threads. This is a long term mission for me. You can learn about the program over at Heartstrings.
Puppy Print - I couldn'd find the name of who donated the top
