When there is a special purpose, then great finishes are sure to follow. I will be gifting these quilts out next weekend. One of my RSC projects was the crayons. I think I'll make one every year. So in working with my yellows, I made the crayon first (usually last), so I could get this quilt together.
I tried to get past the blurry photos, but this one was not cooperating. It has a nice warm and white batting and backed with a colorful flannel. It came out 40 x 54.
This next project used alot of yellow, but did not come from the scrap bins. It measures 48 x 60. It also has a cotton batting and a comfy fleece on the back.
I'm linking up with Angela at Soscrappy. Visit there to see what other quilters are creating with their scrappy leftovers.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
I love the crayon quilt - fun pattern and great use of color.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Crayon Quilt. Perfect RSC project. Is the pattern online!
ReplyDeletethose crayons! Nothing was better than a new box of 64's with the sharperner in the back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use scraps! Congrats and thanks for sharing. I like your star quilt too.
ReplyDeleteI love how your crayon quilt turned out! Such a great way to use your scraps!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! on TWO great finishes.
ReplyDeleteLove how the crayons turned out! Congrats on the finish.
ReplyDeleteI looooove your crayon quilt! I love how you extended it by adding extra crayons! I may do that to the crayon quilt I began in August (mainly for the 2017 RSC). And the Friendship Star quilt is simply stunning! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on two fun finishes. I hope they bring joy and blessings to the ones who receive them.
ReplyDeleteI love you stars quilt. I can sort of figure out the parts but how is it assembled?
ReplyDeleteSure love your crayon quilt. I used to collect crayons....some are so old they don't color well anymore.
ReplyDeleteWow that crayon quilt is fabulous for the RSC to use up all the scraps!
ReplyDeleteI use 90% scraps and the rest from the stash - which generates more scraps (so it is all good). Crayons (and Mr. Roger's tour of the Crayola factory) have always been favorites at our house.
ReplyDeleteKat, I'm going to be doing the crayons this year, got the Color Me version from FQQ. I do lots of Project Linus kid quilts. I often use just fleece back, no batting. I got several fleece blankets on sale, 50 X 60, for under $3 in cute kid themes, then make the fronts to match. See my recent post of Dog Park quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of making the crayons for the RSC...hope you don't mind if I copy your idea! I've been looking at all your RSC and found lots of inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun such a fun crayon quilt. I love the top and bottom crayons, such a nice border effect.
ReplyDeleteThe crayon quilt is such fun....and it must be fun to make if you want to make one every year!!
