Learned so much free motion quilting while playing on this panel--techniques from Amy Johnson, Angela Walters and Natalia Bonner videos. Thank you, ladies for such amazing instruction and encouragement. It has been a wonderful journey.
So this first panel, the aqua version, is 'nearly' done. I was waiting to get the dark thread to finish in a few corners of the panel and also still need to find the perfect shade of fabric for the binding. After all this work, I wouldn't want to finish off with an unsightly binding. I also must remember to arc off the 4 corners before attaching binding. It helps to keep the bed quilts from dragging and tripping you up.
I used a high-loft poly batting and a few shades of Glide thread to emphasize the quilting, done on my AQ16 sit-down machine. It measures 80 x 90 .
and I always go to the back first …..

That quilt is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI've seen many versions of this, but yours is so different.
OMG! That is beautiful. I am at a loss for words. With that gorgeous quilting you could have made a whole cloth quilt because the back stands on its own. I bow before your quilty abilities.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning - and with the stained glass window in the background - it just adds pizzazz to your photo!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous and well done!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love how the light borders really frame the center.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Love it with the stained glass windows!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just found your post. The quilt is just stunning. I would love to make one for my auntie. Would you be willing to share the dimensions of your added borders? I am assuming you used the Big Dream Simple Path pattern your shared for the center. I tried to figure the borders out, but I can't seem to get it to come out correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
