I saw an example of this quilt on internet somewhere. loved the color combo. When Angela of Soscrappy posted late December that January's color would be pink, I quickly got started. I made 4 scrappy squares pink blocks in December, just to get that jump start.
Well, now its only late May and this quilt is all finished and ready for gifting to someone who hopefully loves pinks. It finished at 45 x 55. I quilted it with a pink shade of Glide thread. I used a fun free motion design that I learned from Angela Walters videos. You can see it in the center block of this Log Cabin block at the 18:08 minute mark of this video Quilting Designs for Log Cabin Blocks - Video 3 of the Free-motion Challenge Quilting Along It looks great stitched in a rectangle shape. I quilted it over each grouping of the 8 pink square units. I quilted a long frame in the brown sashing strips around the blocks and a swirl around the outer border.
The back of this quilt is a pretty plaid printed fleece. Maybe you can see the flow of the quilting better from this side. I seem to always go right to the back of the quilts first just to see the quilting.
