So it's the new year of Rainbow Scrap Challenge and everyone is anxious to dig into their blue scrap bins to create new projects. I dived into my blue bin and found lots of large chunks that needed used so I chose the Honey Bouquet pattern by Villa Rosa Designs. It is published as a 6 block baby size quilt. I added 3 more blocks and turned them on their side to make a kiddo quilt 45 x 54. This is just the flimsy. Lots of machine quilting to do yet this year.
I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Wow! How big are those blocks, Kat? They must be HUGE to only require 9 for a 45 x 54" baby quilt! Such a good use for those BLUE fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is a good use of big chunks. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun design and looks like a good way to use up some nice size chunks, too! Happy sewing New Year, Kat!
ReplyDeleteWow, the picture is deceiving. Until I read your description, I was thinking those pieces were in the range of 2x4”. But you sure whacked back your blues! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Kat, are you still planning on doing the Quilters' Cove QAL? I was thinking of joining.... Thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Andree. My 'partner in crime' who initially jump started this project idea has some huge medical challenges/interruptions? come up and had to step down from our original plan. I am just doing my own thing with the houses quilt and will be posting as my parts or units are made. I dont do linkys but I would be so happy to include the direct links to anyones post who want to share your housing progress on the "A Quilters Cove" page. I would love to follow your progress also.
DeleteGreat pattern and very cute blue quilt! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
