RSC 2021 - Pinks

I showed restraint in choosing patterns for my RSC 2021 projects -----  only  ONE  , so far !!  I have some baskets of scrappy strips, 1-1/2" and 1" trimmed.  Hoping to use these up and empty baskets is why I chose this log cabin style block for my project.  I have to give credit to Cynthia of   Oh Scrap for shining the light on this block for me.

So I have a partial layout plan in EQ, subject to change at any time.  Here are my 5 pink log cabin style blocks  and did some leader/ender style stitching with these pink crumb blocks, which will be the center of some other block designs in the future.

Tree of Life - December blocks

I'm still pluggin away at this project - only 7 paper pieced blocks per month.  I am doing miniature 3 inch finished blocks.  My biggest challenge seems to be remembering which fabrics are for what on the color chart.  Seems to be confusing every month.  I made a few notes which i hope will get me thru.

Here are my December blocks ..........

I'm linking up with Denise at  For the Love of Geese.  Be sure to visit there to see what other quilters have created with their project.

RSC 2020 - August, Sept, Oct

I've been busy sewing, cutting, sewing, and lots more cutting.  I  had 3 new RSC projects for 2020,  they have joined the unfinished groups of RSC projects from 2019,, 2018 and maybe ??????

While cutting, I did cut for one of my 2020 projects, I call this block a double pinwheel.  It might more properly be termed as a friendship pinwheel.  At any rate,  I was doing 3 blocks in each color, for a 30 block quilt.  I will have to doodle in EQ to see if I want a narrow sashing between the blocks or not.  Either way,  they make a nice alternate pattern too.

Good Dogs Too Panel plus ........

I was recently inspired to make the Good Dogs Too panel into a lap quilt.  I would have preferred a rectangle shape,  but  square it is ............ 52 x 52.

It is quilted with the serpentine design in a cross hatch,  just to keep it simple.  I didnt have the energy to FMQ around all those elements.  It is backed with a fabric that says "sisters forever"  in purples and navy.  Since it is not backed with a fleece,  I used a puffy poly batt in between.

Here is the back .................

I've been taking photos with my IPhone but when i enlarge them,  they are a bit fuzzy.  Maybe I should go back to using the camera and see if I can improve on the details.

In the meantime,  I'm joining these wonderful linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing this week.

Machine Quilting With Rulers QAL

This project is a ruler quilt along with Angela Walters.  It is worked on a pre-printed panel.  I added a couple borders and a flange for a final measurement of  58 x 72.  I enjoy these challenges that have weekly progress.  You can find all the info for this project  at

 https://quiltingismytherapy.com/free-quilt-patterns-and-tutorials/free-motion-challenge-quilting-along/

Here is my finished quilt.  I used a poly batting, Glide threads on top and bottom line thread in the bobbin.

Here is a photo of the back, it is a gray and white print.  I usually love seeing the back of the quilt to see the whole picture of the quilting,  but it's not showing up very well.  It's still a cozy quilt to gift to someone special.

I'm joining these linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing today.

Tree of Life - October blocks

Time to share a pic of October's blocks for my miniature Tree of Life project.  This project is led by Denise of  For The Love of Geese  website.  Don't let 'miniature' scare you, it was my choice to make it that size.  Denise is sharing the project in full size.

So,  here are my 7 blocks for October.

and since they look similar to the other blocks,  I will also share a pic of  August, September and October blocks together ............  just for fun.

Be sure to visit Denise  at   For the Love of Geese  to see who else has joined in to share this project and get the instructions for yourself.

Thanks so much for stopping by  and stay safe.
