I made up 8 wonky log blocks. I also have some stashed away from last year, tho they are more like crumb blocks. They are all 6-1/2 inches square. There are many block setting that these could be set into.
These are 3-1/2 inch scrappy rails. They are so fun to put together. They will make a wonderful border or other block unit. Cannot have too many of these. I could have made lots more but I'm holding out for more fabric variety.
Finally, to bring the month of January blues to a close, I began cutting up 1-1/2 inch squares for a mosiac quilt in the planning.
I'm linking up with Angela over at Soscrappy for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2014 where you will see what other creative quilters are doing with their blues.
They look great and so motivating. Makes me want to make a bunch too!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty blues! It is such a popular color. It makes me want to buy more of the other colors so they don't feel too left out.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm wanting to do something similar with my crumbs :)
ReplyDeleteGreat blue blocks - like the idea of the crumb border pieces.
ReplyDeleteYum! I'm not a blue person, but I sure like those!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection of wonky cabins and rails. I must try being asymmetrical too.
ReplyDeleteGreat blue blocks! Good idea for a border.
ReplyDeleteYes. I love blue and have more blue scraps than another color, too.
You have some very pretty blue scraps in those blocks! They will make a very pretty quilt. Funny but my blue scraps are one of the smaller groups in my scrap stash. They never seem to go down though even though I've used a lot this month.
ReplyDeleteI've been playing with my scraps as well...sometimes it's just so rejuvenating! myplvl.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of great blocks made with your blue scraps! That color seems to be my biggest container.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of making scrappy rail fence blocks. They look great and 3.5 is a good size to fit into lots of designs.
