RSC15 Sampler - March Yellows

My scrap bins do not hold alot of variety in yellows.  The two sampler blocks are ready and waiting. Some points are a bit lost.  I'm okay with that cuz the quilt police are on spring break.

I have made friends with the easy angle and companion angle templates while doing this project.  Angela has worked up tutorials for the center sampler blocks using these templates.  If I'm careful with the 1/4" seam, it works pretty good and so convenient to cut them all from the same strips.    You can see all the monthly sampler blocks for the RSC15 Sampler on this page.

I'm linking up with Angela for Scraphappy Saturday where you will see what other quilters are making with their yellow scraps.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

  1. Very pretty blocks. I too don't have a lot of yellows. I'm hoping that I have enough to get through the month. It's going to be very close!

  2. It seems that most of us don't have a large variety of yellows; I think it is hard to find pretty ones in the stores...nice blocks...hugs, Julierose

  3. I think yellow is lacking in a lot of quilter's stash. I think the quilting police need to take a permanent holiday. Yes, that dratted 1/4" seam!

  7. I'm actually surprised that I have as much yellow as I do. Don't use it often but I love it for a pop of colour from time to time. Great blocks.

  8. There's not an abundance of yellow variety in the quilt shops. Thankfully there are no quilting police at my house.

  10. Very pretty blocks. I don't have the easy angle ruler. Since you've played with them for this project, ware they worth having in the sewing room?

  11. They look good from here! We can only get better by making more blocks (and improving our equipment; do you have a patchwork foot for your machine? that made a big difference in my work).

  13. Great blocks. I love using my specialty rulers....I got them a couple of years ago and they are so much easier to use scraps with.
