I've been working on several things this week and have these 2 small finishes to share. Tossed Leaves & Pumpkins Runner was made from 2 placemat panels. I used coordinating fabrics to create the center checkered design. I free motion quilted it with Glide threads using a diagonal line going around the small rectangles and free motion in the pumpkin and leaves shapes. The back is a fun plaid print from this fabric line. It finished at 18 x 50.
This string quilt is a 37 inch baby quilt. The top is made by Valerie Osborne of Maine and donated thru contact with the Heartstrings Group. The backing is a lovely piece donated by a generous friend in Illinois. I quilted it with a serpentine stitch grid with gray Omni thread. It will be donated to the Hope Center for mothers-to-be. Isn't the quilting community a generous and loving bunch of humanity!
I'm joining these lovely linky parties this week. Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Such pretty colors in your TossedLeaves and Pumpkins runner. And a pretty string quilt for a worthy cause.
ReplyDeleteYou’ve really outdone yourself with the beautiful autumn quilts and this table runner this year. Such gorgeous, understated colors. And another awesome string quilt! I’m love how you round the edges - I need to do that more often! Wish we had time (and location) to sit and sew together!
ReplyDeleteAnother cute string quilt. Love that autumn runner.
ReplyDeleteThe table runner is so pretty! I love the colors in it.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics in your runner and just in time for Thanksgiving too! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

That's such a pretty runner, Kat! Perfect for your Thanksgiving table. sweet string quilt finish, too - you are so kind to take those donated tops and finish them up!
ReplyDeleteYou found the perfect coordinates for the Pumkin panels --- makes a great runner to set a Fall table. I like the baby string quilt and love the rounded corners. I have two to make and need to remember to try that for them. Yes, quilters are a generous group!!
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are great, but I really love that Pumpkin runner! Great job. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
