Lighthouse W.H.

I made this mini wall hanging to brighten a bare spot in the bathroom.  I seem to have the need to cover the walls with little quilts and things.  Do you have that problem?  One fine quilter I know (referring to herself)  put it like this:  "I live in a house with  padded walls".

It was assembled from pieces cut from 2 different panels. I picked up the lighthouse panel at Mary Maxim in Port Huron, MI and the assorted sea life panel from a nice little shop in Shipshewana, IN.  I had to work some creative framing to get them to fit together.

I did not have the courage to free motion quilt around the elements and so stayed with minimal quilting. I'm linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times where you will find lots of other creative quilters sharing their latest creations. Thanks for visiting!

  3. Great wall hanging. I have two problems finishing something to hang and wall space. I have a house full of windows....not too clean ones I might add.

  4. I love anything to do with lighthouses and the ocean I would never have guessed that you used elements from different panels. You made them work beautifully together.

  5. I wish I had more wall space in my house! I keep thinking of taking down shelves or pictures so I can hang quilts! I think your lighthouse wall hanging is terrific. I wouldn't have the guts to quilt it myself either!
