Banner for Ukraine

I have been puttering along with this project over the weekend.  It is a banner to hang outside in support of Ukraine.   It is 26" square.  I wish I had made different choices in the design,  but it is what it is, as they say.  My accuquilt dies made much easy work for me on this one.  I hope to be quilting it today.  I'll add another photo to this post when it's done.

The inspiration is from a monthly tablescraps challenge at The Joyful Quilter.  This month the challenge was to use flowers and also include the RSC montly color which was yellow.  Of course the rules are only suggestions and you are welcome to create a smallish project with whatever makes you happy.  The end of month link up ends today.

In the meantime, I'm joining my favorite linky parties this week.  Be sure to visit them to see what other quilters are sharing.

Fabulous Feathers - a finish

This project was a free quilt along with Angela Walters,  She designed the fabric panel to accommodate the feather designs being taught.  I have learned so much from Angela's videos.  It is the nudge to do it and she is so easy to follow along.  You can find Angela's  project posts   HERE .

Here are photos of my Fabulous Feathers quilt challenge.  I added extra borders and it finished at 59 x 69.  It was started November 5, 2021 but waited for an opportunity to pin baste it.   I did most of the quilting last month.  Some areas don't look  great.  I wont point them out.  I enjoyed the process and that's what counts.

Q4K 22-2 Grandmas Goodness

This quilt is my rendition of  'Grandmas Goodness' , a pattern by Gudrun Erla of GE Quilt Designs.   I adjusted the dimensions to fit the backing I chose.  I will make different adjustments next time I cut for this pattern.  It was so fun to put together though.  The young-happy fabrics also made it a joy.  I can see several of these little quilts in my future.  It finished at 46 x 58 .

There is cotton batting in the center and this adorable fleece on the back............

I quilted it with gold Omni thread; ditch stitching on all the panel seams and free motion in the open areas.  I tried not to over quilt so it will stay cuddley for children.  Here is a close-up; arcs in a diamond grid on the larger light areas and  straight lines with free style circles in the narrow brown strips.

SAHRR 2022

SAHRR ...  Stay at Home Round Robin.  I began this project when they first posted the challenge last year.  Since they are doing a new version this year,  I decided to follow along.  This style of project is great encouragement for spreading your wings with techniques and design.

https://quiltinggail.com/2022/01/10/sahrr-2022-getting-started-center-block/

Here is my center with a few rounds from 2021 - 20-1/2 inch square

This month I combined rounds 1 and 2 together into one round.  I  had some leftover peaky and spike units (half diamonds) from a storm at sea quilt I made a few years ago.  I had 4 large (6 inch) drunkard path blocks also leftover from another project.  I decided to join them into diamonds and use coping strips to make it all fit into one border.

Here is my project now.  it measures 32-1/2 inches square.

I'm joining these linky partys this week.  Please be sure to visit them to see what other creative quilters are sharing.

Quilt 4 Kids - 22-1

This is a cute strippie - the fabric does all the work this time. It finished at 45 x 51.  I backed it with a fleece and cotton batting.  I quilted it with straight lines on my Janome.  I dont have a pattern to share.  I put it together from a image on the internet, adjusting sizes to suit my backing fabric.

and here is a pic of the fleece backing;

Dash - a finish for donation

I just finished this quilt.  It is from a 3 yard quilt design called  " Dash ".  My version finished at 42 x 53.  It has cotton batting and a soft gray fleece on the back.   I used the blocks for areas to sample feather designs.  I quilted it on my Janome sit down machine.  I will donate this one to the Heritage of Huntington nursing home.
