GFG Baby Quilt

I have been quilting on this piece of grandmothers flower garden fabric.  I call it a cheater because all I had to do was sandwich it with a comfy piece of purple fleece and start quilting away.  I finally finished the quilting today.  I searched around for the perfect binding and all I could come up with was an elegant deep purple/blue, nothing else worked. I hope to get that stitched on tomorrow.   I wish I had backed this fabric with the white fleece.  Oh well, next time.

It's quite large for a baby quilt;  42 x 56. I suppose when the child is a toddler, she can still haul it around and make it useful.  I also like to make a 'somewhat matching' set, a smaller piece, about 30 inches square which is a nice size to fold up an infant in and to toss over a carseat or stroller.

I'm linking up with Kelly of My Quilt Infatuation where you will find alot more creative projects being shared.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I really like the blue's a beautiful finish!

  2. Babies and white fleece - no. I like what you used with this - makes it fun.

  3. This is such a cute and cuddly quilt. I think it is the perfect size.

  4. the backing is perfect for this fabric!

Thanks so much for showing this off at Needle and Thread Thursday!
