RSC16 Browns - Part 2

Today rounds up the remainder of my brown scraps.  I have so little browns left now.    Here is my adopted version of the indian hatchet block....Jan and Feb rows together.

and here is the crayon rows together............

both rows are 48 inches long.  If I decide to make the indian hatchet quilt longer, it is easy to add more blocks before the rows are sewn together.  It may become a bed quilt.

The remaining scraps were pieced into large crumb blocks - excess of 8".  They are intended for hot pads  AND  practice for easy FMQ.  I am a totally walking foot quilter, but I want to play a bit and it's okay when they'll be badly quilted.

I did a thorough job with the browns this month.  I wonder what color is on tap for March?  I'm linking up with Angela at Soscrappy  and on Sunday with Cynthia for Oh Scrap.  Please visit these sites to see what everyone else has done with their brown scraps.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  7. Great RSC projects. The Indian hatchet blocks sure used up a ton of scraps as did the crayons. Well done!

  9. That is a great idea to use the crumb blocks for FMQ practice and then turn them into hot pads! I should do that, too. I always use my walking foot for quilting, too, but I am trying to learn and practice FMQ.
